Faye Henthorn, 1928 - 2006

     Faye Henthorn, 77, of Idabel, passed away Monday, January 30, 2006 at Paris. She was born August 4, 1928 at Haworth, the daughter of Ernest S. and Ruby P. Porton Jones.
     Faye owned and operated Faye’s Fabric’s for 33 years. She enjoyed sewing, arts, and crafts. Faye was a member of the Grace Assembly Church in Idabel and had lived most of her life in McCurtain County.
     She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest S. Jones; her husband, Mike O. Henthorn; a grandson, William G. Lumsden and an infant grandson; and a brother, Andy Jones.
     Faye is survived by her mother, Ruby Jones Galloway of Idabel; a son, Jimmie M. Henthorn of Kingston; a daughter, Sharon Henthorn Lumsden of Idabel; a brother and sister-in-law, Dock and Ella Nora Jones of Idabel; a sister-in-law, Jean Jones of Idabel; grandchildren and their spouses, J. Michael Henthorn II and Becky of Tishomingo, Jeff Lumsden of Bealton, Virginia, and Lynda and Jeremy Huddleston of Henderson, Nevada; great-grandchildren, Cami Pollock, Bretton Pollock, and Benjamin J. Henthorn all of Tishomingo, and Kimberly Lumsden of Frankfurt, Germany; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
     Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2006 at Grace Assembly Church in Idabel with Bro. Elwayne Schaeffer officiating. Interment will follow in the Denison Cemetery.
     Family will receive friends Wednesday, February 1, 2006 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Rogers Mayo, 1941 - 2006

     Rogers Mayo, 64, of Idabel, passed away Monday, January 30, 2006 at his residence. He was born February 21, 1941 at Grant, Oklahoma, the son of Ralph Atlas and Evelyn Fugett Mayo.
     Rogers was retired from Campbell’s Soup. He was a mason, was a protestant by faith and had lived in this area for 15 yrars moving from Arkansas.
     He was preceded in death by his parents.
     Rogers is survived by his sons, Clark Mayo of Idabel, and James Lee Burchfield of Arkansas; and a brother, Billy Ray Mayo of Idabel; many other relatives and a host of friends.
     Funeral Services will be private.

Wallace “W.O.” Allen, 1932 - 2006

     Wallace “W.O.” Allen, 73, longtime resident of Idabel, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2006 at Texarkana. He was born October 26, 1932 at Malta, Texas to Matthew and Bessie Samuels Allen.
     W.O. enjoyed raising a garden, and horse trading. He loved telling stories and visiting with family and friends. W.O was a member of the Boggy Springs Full Gospel Church and had lived most of his life in the Idabel area.
     He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda Allen in 1997; brothers, Leslie Allen, Sib Allen, and Horace Allen; sisters, Odessa Estes and Lelar Allen.
     W.O. is survived by his wife Ledna of Greenbrier, Arkansas; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Geneva Powell of Greenbrier, Arkansas, Ronald and Deanna Allen, William “Bubba” and Melinda Allen, and Douglas O’Neal and Tanya Allen all of New Boston; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Mike Brown of Greenbrier, Arkansas, Georgia “Bugs” and Gary Hensley of Vilonia, Arkansas, Lindy and Charles “Willie” Byard of Greenbrier, Arkansas, and Sheri and Dean Sands of Clarksville; step-sons, Michael Don Syrus, and Ricky Dean Syrus both of Ft Worth, Nolan Allen, and Ricky Allen both of Greenbrier, Arkansas; sister and brother-in-law, Adelee and Frank Williams of DeKalb; 25 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
     Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday January 30, 2006 at the Conley-White Funeral Chapel in Idabel with Bro. Martin Young officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
     Family will receive friends Sunday, January 29 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Nell Rhodes, 1912 - 2006

     Nell D. Rhodes, 93, of the Cisco Community, passed away Friday, January 27, 2006 at her residence. She was born April 17, 1912 at Chickasha, to Sam and Nellie Zora Black Kilpatrick.
     Nell was a retired nurse. She enjoyed playing bingo, birdwatching, and spending time with family and friends. Nell was a member of the First Baptist Church in Johntown, Texas, and had lived here for 8 years moving from Bogata, Texas.
     She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mona Bryant; a grandson, Kenneth Lee Bryant; sisters, Gladys Tarleton, and Alma Riney; brothers, Jack Kilpatrick, Pete Kilpatrick, and Orb Kilpatrick.
     Nell is survived by her sons, Jack Malcom Rhodes of Bogata, Dale Bruce Rhodes of Clarksville, and Benjamin Shannon Rhodes of Bogata; daughters, Madge McDonald of Bogata, Susan Howard of the Cisco Community, and Gail McKinney of Bogata; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
     Graveside Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday January 30, 2006 at the Bogata Cemetery in Bogata, Texas.

Becky Burke, 1955 - 2006

     Becky Dian Burke, 50, of Fenton, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2006, at her residence. She was born December 17, 1955 in DeQueen, AR. to Vestal and Audrey Lou Burke.
     Becky was a beloved daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend. She loved her cat Pumpkin. Becky loved to work for the Lord and worked tirelessly in the Joyce Meyers Ministry doing prison ministry, and audio, tape, and DVD ministry. She volunteered in the church nursery, and most recently as a Special Needs Speaker. She worked tirelessly raising funds for her church and spreading the love of Jesus.
     A bit of a loner in her private life, she loved to quilt, cross-stitch, knit, and paint. She moved to Missouri five years ago to try new things and find new and fulfilling works in Christ. She was a hard worker. Although limited by her disability, she bought and remodeled her home. Becky, much younger than her siblings, was a person who would speak her mind when she’d been wronged, and who spoke with conviction about subjects near and dear to her heart.
     She was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Dale Burke and his wife Gail; paternal grandparents, Charles and Juanita Burke; and maternal grandparents, Mick Perry and Cecil Roden.
     Becky leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Vestal and Audrey Burke, Eureka, CA; sisters, Myrl Kemp and husband Sam, San Antonio, TX, and Linda Morrow and husband Bill, Eureka, CA; two nieces; six nephews; four great nieces; six great nephews; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
     Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 30, 2006, at Brumley Chapel, Broken Bow. Interment will follow in Hochatown Cemetery, Hochatown, OK. Bro. Robert Burke will officiate.
     The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2006 at Brumley Funeral Home, Broken Bow.

Bobby Towery, 1932 - 2006

     Bobby Gene Towery, 73, of Valliant, Oklahoma passed away January 24, 2006 in Valliant. He was born April 23, 1932 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the son of Grady and Gladys (Coates) Towery.
     He lived in Spartanburg, S.C. most of his life but lived in Valliant for the last 3 years. He married June Wyatt October 24, 2002 in Mena, Ark. He loved to fish, camp and enjoyed walking. He also enjoyed carpentry. He served in the U.S. Army as a Ranger in the Korean War and later in civilian life he was a truck driver. He will be missed by all who knew him.
     Bobby is survived by his wife; June Towery, one daughter: Kathy Lynn Hawkins and her husband Wayne of Inman, S.C., his parents Grady and Gladys Towery of S.C., two brothers; Ken Towery and Gary Towery both of Woodruff, S.C. 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews from the Swink area along with a host of other family and friends.
     Graveside services will be held Friday, January 27, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at the Oak Hill Cemetery, West of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, with Bro. Troy Ruffin officiating. The Southeast Oklahoma Veterans' Honor Guard will render military honors.
     The family will receive friends at 11:00 AM Friday January 27, 2006 at Mrs. June Towery’s home.

Eli Joe Frazier, 1925 - 2006

     Eli Joe Frazier, 80, Idabel, passed away Monday, January 23, 2006 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital, Idabel. He was born April 3, 1925, at Idabel, OK., to Arthur Cornelius and Roseanna Brandy Frazier.
     Eli Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of Kulli Tuklo United Methodist Church and had been a resident of Idabel for the past 20 years moving from California. He was a San Francisco 49ers fan, loved fishing and gospel singing.
     He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Roseanna Brandy and Arthur Cornelius Frazier; two brothers, Steven Frazier and David Frazier and one sister, Fannie LaSarge.
     Eli Joe leaves to cherish his memory one son, Norman Samuels of Mississippi; one daughter, Linda Underwood, Ross, OK; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Henrietta Frazier, Broken Bow, James “Chun” and Amaryallis Frazier, Indiahoma, OK., and Benny Frazier, Idabel; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Madeline Jessie, Garland, TX., Anna and Paul Stephan and Mary and James McClure all of Idabel; one sister-in-law, Naomi Frazier, Houston, TX; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
     Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2006 at Brumley Funeral Home Chapel, Idabel, with Rev. Rosa Baker and Bro. Elwayne Schaeffer officiating. Interment will follow in Denison Cemetery, Idabel.

Thelma Staton, 1926 - 2006

     Thelma Louise Staton, 79, of Millerton, Oklahoma, died January 23, 2006 in Idabel, Oklahoma. Thelma was born June 9, 1926 in Best, TX, the daughter of Carl C. and Sarrah Verda (Lewis) Johnson and had lived in McCurtain Co. since 1980. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Staton, her parents, three brothers; James, Henery Gerald, and Bill Johnson, her daughter; Lela Young and a nephew C.C. Johnson.
     She leaves to cherish her memory; 2 sons; John Staton and his wife Paula of Garvin, OK, and Bill Frazier and his wife Debbie of Mansfield, TX, 2 brothers; J.T Johnson of Farmersville, TX and Walter Johnson of Garvin, OK, 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren along with a host of other friends and relatives.
     Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 28, 2006 at the Spirit Rock Church – Millerton, OK with Bro. Troy Ruffin officiating.

Larry Wheat, 1953 - 2006

     Larry Dean Wheat, 52, of Broken Bow, passed away January 22, 2006, at his residence. He was born November 24, 1953, at Poplarville, MS, the son of Carl and Mable Lovett Wheat.
     Larry served our country in the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and listening to Hank Williams Sr. Larry loved his children and grandchildren and he also loved dogs.
     He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Wheat in 1980; his mother, Mable Wheat in 1997 and one brother, Boyd Wheat in 2000.
     Larry leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Joshua Wheat and wife Evalyn, Amarillo, TX; Joseph Wheat, Broken Bow and Jeremiah Wheat and his wife Amy, Florence, MS; two daughters, Jessica Hargon and Amy Wheat, both of Brandon, MS; four brothers, Charlie Melear and Herbert Wheat, both of Amarillo, TX; Charles Wayne Wheat, Haskell, TX and Bryant Wheat, Booneville, AR; four sisters, Marie Glover, Mary Alexander and Betty Gwen Voshalike, all of Broken Bow, OK and Louella Thomas, Amarillo, TX; nine grandchildren, Bruce, Ashley, Dakota, Breannah, Ashton, Cheyenne, Jaden, Gauge, and Garrett; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Herbert Nowell, 1921 - 2006

     Herbert Nowell, 84, of Wright City, passed away January 24, 2006, at his residence. He was born March 2, 1921, at Battiest, OK, the son of Bud and Ertie Smith Nowell.
     Herbert was a veteran in the U. S. Army and served our country during World War II. He was a faithful member of the Baptist Church and enjoyed ranching and farming. Herbert was an avid hunter and had a great love for nature and the outdoors.
     He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dorothy Cumpton; his grandson, Kevin Vandiver; one brother, Cleaburn Nowell; two sisters, Blanche Duty and Emma Smith.
     Herbert leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Ruby Nowell, of the home; two daughters, Sharon Roberts and husband Elvin and Beverly Cumpton and husband Johnny, all of Wright City; one sister, Mellie Hendrix, of Valliant, OK; four grandchildren, Shane Roberts and Flecia Straon, both of Valliant; Shannon Roberts and Magin Cumpton, both of Wright City; seven great-grandchildren and host of friends.
     Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 26, 2006, at the First Baptist Church, Wright City, OK. Interment will follow at Moran Cemetery, Rufe community. Bro. Bill Stone will officiate.

Clyde Luper, 1936 - 2006

     Clyde David Luper, 69, passed away January 22, 2006 at his home in Millerton, OK. He was born June 16, 1936 in Garvin, OK the son of John and Sendie (Aubrey) Luper.
     Clyde was employed as a truck driver for McCurtain Co. Dist. #3. He loved the outdoors and shared a passion for deer hunting with his son. He believed the “early bird got the worm” and would get up early each day to enjoy the sunrise. We knew him by the name Honey, Daddy, Papa, Friend and Dude and we’re all blessed by his love and guidance. We will love and miss him always.
     He was preceded in death by 2 sons; Clyde David Luper, Jr. and Charles David Luper, his parents and brothers; Bill Lechliter, Lee Luper and Doc Luper.
     Clyde is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 50 years, Beaulah Luper of the home, one son; Billy Luper and his wife Tammy of Garvin, one daughter; Bettye Mowatt and her husband Steve of Elmore City, OK, two brothers; John Lechliter and Marvin Luper both of Valliant, one sister; Bertha Luper of Vinita, OK, 9 grandchildren; Chris Arnold and fiancée, Christine Bruce of Durant, Brooke Horn and husband Shawn of Pottsville, Ark, Shea Hedrick and fiancée Brent Holt of OKC, Clay Luper and wife Darrah of Hochatown, OK, Jason Mowatt of Elmore City, OK, Jarrod Mowatt of Eugene, OR, Josh Mowatt of Ada, OK, Ray Cahill and fiancée Hope Womack of Garvin, OK, and Dovie Cahill of Garvin, OK, great grandchildren are; Joe Lisa Richards and KeyShaun Cahill of Garvin, OK, Bralen and Chaselin Luper of Hochatown, OK, and Megan Arnold of Durant, OK.      Interment followed immediately at the Forest Hill Cemetery, Garvin, OK.

Army “Skip” Johnson, 1939 - 2006

     Army “Skip” Johnson, 66, of Mt. Herman community, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2006 at Idabel. He was born March 30, 1939 at Mt. Herman to Cleve and May Brooks Johnson.
     Army was a salesman and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
     He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, P. K. Johnson, Staley Johnson, Dennis Johnson, and Pal Johnson
     Army is survived by his wife Kay of the home; sons, Steven Johnson of Mt. Herman, Jerrad Johnson and Scottie Johnson of Kentucky; daughters, Rhonda Johnson of McKinleyville, California, Debbie Johnson of Kennor, Louisiana, and Jenny Johnson of Kentucky; brothers, Clayton Johnson of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, R. B. Johnson and Boyd Johnson of Mt. Herman; sisters, Lorene Shipman of Springfield, Missouri, Daisy Barrick of Elk Grove, California and Nelcene Newman of Springfield, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
     Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday January 23, 2006 at Mt. Herman Church with Bro. Perry Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Watson Cemetery.

Jimmy Christian, 1953 - 2006

     Jimmy Christian, 52, Conroe, TX, passed away January 19, 2006.

Elsie Mae Gunter, 1926 - 2006

     Elsie Mae Gunter, 79, of Spencerville, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at McCloud, Oklahoma. Mrs. Gunter was born February 7, 1926 in Ector, Texas, the daughter of Clifford B. Allen and Viola “Babe”(Ford) Allen and had lived in Spencerville since 1964. She married George C. Gunter on September 24, 1948 in Paris, TX.
     He preceded her in death on September 22, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Wanda Mae Harris, and a brother, John T. Allen.
     Elsie loved taking care of her home, spending time with her family, enjoyed having company, loved playing dominoes, enjoyed canning vegetables loved blue grass music, and enjoyed going to the Bill Grant Blue Grass Festival.
     She is survived by two sons: Paul Ray Harris of Midwest City, OK and George C. Gunter, Jr. of Rufe, OK; one daughter, Barbara Ann Mills of McLoud, OK; one brother, Clifford B. Allen, Jr. of San Simon, AZ; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and her very close friend, Charlie Miller of Spencerville.
     Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 21, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Spencerville Cemetery, Spencerville, OK.
     The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, January 20, 2006 at Mrs. Gunter’s home in Spencerville.

Virgie Ila Gray, 1909 - 2006

     Virgie Ila Gray, 96, of Idabel, passed away on January 19, 2006 in Idabel. She was born on June 25, 1909 in Greer County, OK to James and Martha Cooke. She lived most of her lifetime in McCurtain County.
     Granny Gray’s greatest joy was her family, her life as a Christian, and her time in the kitchen.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John C. Gray, Sr.; 1 daughter, Ella Faye Sharp; 4 sons, Loyd Earl Gray, Sr., Ed Gray, Joseph Gray, and Ivy Gray; 2 great-grandchildren, Amy Willoughby and Jay Paul Tapley; 1 sister Novia Capps; 5 brothers, Henry Cooke, Marshall Cooke, Leslie Cooke, Lonnie Cooke, and William Cooke.
     She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Aubrey and Beatrice Gray, and John Jr. and Evelyn Gray of Idabel; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Virgie and Claude Mullens, and Helen and Floyd Buckley of Idabel; daughter-in-law, Peggy Gray of Broken Bow; 1 sister, Faye Nix of Durant, OK; 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
     Visitation with the family is scheduled for tonight, January 20, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Norwood Funeral Home.
     Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, January 21, 2006 at the Faith Assembly of God Church in Idabel, with Brother Bates presiding. Interment will follow in Canfield Cemetery.

Theodore Preston Bohanan, 1937 - 2006

     Theodore Preston Bohanan, 69, of Eagletown, OK, passed away January 18, 2006 at St. John Medical Center, Tulsa, OK. He was born January 11, 1937, in Eagletown, OK.
     Theodore P. Bohanan and Loretha M. Austin were united in marriage on October 15, 1957 in Eagletown, OK.
     Theodore was the grandson of John S. Tonihka. He served in the Marine Corp. He was a member of Mt. Fork United Presbyterian Church. He was the caretaker of the Tonihka Cemetery. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports, working on cars, and watching CNN. He enjoyed taking care of his cat, Buddy, and loved spending time with his family and friends.
     He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. John J. Bohanan; one brother, Lyndon E. Bohanan; one sister, Daisy Willmon; and grandfather, John S. Tonihka.
     Theodore leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Loretha Bohanan, of the home; mother, Carrie Bohanan, Eagletown; two sons, Russell and Sharon Bohanan, Eagletown, and Jimmy and Barbie Bohanan, Eagletown; two daughters, Lisa Bohanan, Eagletown, and Tracey and Robbie Risner, Eagletown; one sister, Toka Lee Horse, Eagletown; five grandchildren, Regina and Chad Arnold, Stillwater, Justin Risner, Kayla Bohanan, and Brent Bohanan, all of Eagletown, Shawna and Klyne Hughes of Redland; three great-grandchildren, Stormi Rain Arnold, Stillwater, Brantley Hughes and Faith Hughes, both of Redland, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and a host of friends.
     Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 23, 2006 at Mt. Fork United Presbyterian Church, Eagletown, OK. Rev. Gene Wilson and Rev. Johnny Shomo will officiate. Michael Henson, 1954 - 2006

     Michael Henson, 51, of Dallas, Texas, passed away Monday, January 16, 2006 at Palestine, Texas. He was born February 26, 1954 in Talihina.
     Michael was a marble finisher and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed fishing, camping, riding motorcycles, and was affiliated with the Methodist Faith.
     He was preceded in death by his father, Keith Henson; maternal grandparents, Isom and Ruby Lee Ward.
     Michael is survived by his mother, Dorothy Ward Henson of Idabel; sons, Cody Henson and Anthony Henson both of Broken Bow; a brother, Bryan Henson of Idabel; a sister, Lynne Sparkman of Arlington, Texas; several other relatives and a host of friends.
     Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2006 at the Conley-White Funeral Chapel in Idabel with Rev. Bertram Bobb and Rev. Moses Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Denison Cemetery.

Warren L. Conley, 1938 - 2006

     Warren L. “W.L.” Conley of Sallisaw, Oklahoma was born December 8, 1938 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Roy Stanley and Maude (Martin) Conley and passed this life on Saturday, January 14, 2006 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years.
     He is survived by his wife Camellia of the home; three daughters, Dana Clevenger of Cypress, TX, Lisa Conley of Ft.      W.L. was a former Tulsa fireman. He loved training horses. Horses were his passion. W.L. was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Richard, Irvin and Charles Payne.

Dana (Carroll) Sherwood, 1973 - 2006

     Dana S. (Carroll) Sherwood, 32, Idabel, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2006 at her home. She was born October 19, 1973, at Ardmore, Ok. the daughter of Marvin Lee and Barbara Carroll.
     Dana and Michael Sherwood were married March 15, 2004 at DeQueen, AR. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, DeQueen, and had been a resident of this community for six years. She graduated from Southeastern State University in Durant, and was an Employment Supervisor for Tyson Food. Dana enjoyed her work, shopping, church, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
     She was preceded in death by her sister, Debroah Kay Carroll, paternal grandfather, Lester Carroll, maternal grandparents, Albert and Fern Stafford.
     She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Michael Sherwood of the home; parents, Marvin and Barbara Carroll of Kingston, OK.; grandmother, Nita Carroll, Fairview, OK.; two daughters, Nichole Sherwood and Brittiany Sherwood, Idabel; two sons, Christopher Sherwood and Matthew Sherwood, Idabel; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Amanda Carroll, Kingston,OK; seven aunts, seven uncles, two nieces, and one nephews and a host of friends.

Shade Little, 1924 - 2006

     Shade Little, 81, Octavia, OK, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2006 at his home. He was born April 23, 1924 at Eagleton, AR, the son of Tom and Lula Shelton Little.
     Shade Little and Melba Ingram were united in marriage on December 22, 1952 in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Shade served in the Army during WWII. He was affiliated with the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, and hunting. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Lula Little; one son, David Little; three brothers, Nolas “Blackie”, Sherman, and Dorsey Little.
     He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Melba Little, of the home; three sons, Carl and LaDonna Little, Broken Bow, OK, Clifton and Velaria Little, Octavia, OK, and Clarence Little, Octavia, OK; one brother, Marion Little, Battiest, OK; two sisters, Freda Quill, Leavenworth, KS, and Virginia Ingram, Edmond, MS; seven grandchildren, Memory John, Alisha Futrell, Misty Brown, Bobby Little, Brandie Little, Courtney Little, and Cody Little; three great-grandchildren, Melanie Futrell, Lanie Futrell, and Bradly Little; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

David Stanley Jones, 1928 - 2006

     David Stanley Jones, 77, of Idabel passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at his residence. He was born July 24, 1928 in Boswell, the son of Joseph and Ada LeFlore Jones.
     David lived with his grandfather, James LeFlore of the Iron Stob Community until the age of 8 at which time he was placed in the Goodland Indian orphanage. He graduated from Goodland High School. David received a B.A. Degree in Elementary Ed. with a minor in history with emphasis in “Oklahoma Choctaw History from Central State University in Edmond. He was later awarded a Masters Degree in Education Administration and Guidance and Counseling. David was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy for 2 years in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He then served in the U.S. Naval Reserve as a Gunner’s Mate for 19 years. David then served in the U.S. Army Reserve from which he retired. He was awarded the Danforth Qualities of Leadership Award, and the Masonic Teacher of Today Award. David was a 32nd Degree Mason, served on the Board of Director’s of the Boys and Girls Club of the Choctaw Nation, and was a member of the Color Guard of the Choctaw Nation and the Retired Teacher’s Association of Idabel. David was affiliated with the Bokchito Methodist Church.
     He was preceded in death by his parents.
     David is survived by his son, Quintin Jones of Garvin; daughters, Terra Jones of Oklahoma City, and Lila Jones of Idabel; grandchildren, Darrell Littlehawk of Oklahoma City, Odessa Anderson of Warm Springs, Oregon, Carla Hall of Tulsa, and Alicia Littlehawk of Oklahoma City; great-grandchildren, Kiersten Anderson of Warm Springs, Oregon, Judy King of Tulsa, Jakovan Anderson of Warm Springs, Oregon, and Talisa Littlehawk of Oklahoma City; a sister, Carolyn Jones of Oklahoma City; several other relatives and a host of friends.
     Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2006 at the Bokchito Methodist Church in Idabel. Interment will follow in the Denison Cemetery with Rev. Ruth Jacobs officiating.
     A wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2006 at the funeral home.

     Walter Dale Citty, 65, of Idabel, passed away Monday, January 9, 2006 at his residence. He was born February 4, 1940 in the Redland Community the son of Bonnie and Betsy Hamil Citty.
     Walter Dale enjoyed visiting with friends, was a member of the Haworth Church of Christ, and was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County.
     He was preceded in death by his parents.

Laura Fancher, 1975 - 2006

     Laura (Taylor) Fancher, 30, of Norman, OK, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at Norman Regional Hospital, Norman. She was born April 10, 1975 in DeQueen, AR, the daughter of Phillip and Rhonda Taylor.
     Laura and Christopher Joe Fancher were married August, 1991. She loved clowns, loved to read and enjoyed writing. Laura loved spending time with her kids and talking to her family.
     She was preceded in death by her mother, Rhonda Taylor, two daughters, Rhonda Fancher and Shandra Fancher, grandmother Velma Watkins and grandfather, Troy Watkins.

Paul Clay, 1923 - 2006

     Paul Robert Clay, 82, of Broken Bow, passed away January 7, at McCurtain Memorial Hospital. He was born January 13, 1923, at Silver Creek, OK to Joe and Laura Lee Clay.
     Paul and Joy Teel were united in marriage on September 28, 1946 in Paris, TX. Paul and Joy were married for fifty-nine years.
     Paul was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of 1st Assembly of God, Broken Bow. He was a member of the Broken Bow Masonic Lodge and earned his Fifty Year Pin in 1998. He was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and currently served as Associate Patron. He was a good Dad and Grandpa.
     He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Laura Lee Clay; one brother, Murrell Clay; and two sisters, Aggie Rudisill, and Bessie Sykes.

Hannah Caldwell, 1939 - 2006

     Hannah June “Hattie” Caldwell, 66, of Broken Bow, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 8, 2006 at Tulsa. She was born September 14, 1939, in Broken Bow, OK to Albert Walker Wisdom and Helen June Wilson.
     Hannah was a member of the Choctaw Baptist Church, Idabel. She enjoyed gardening, and singing in the church choir, and being involved with the women’s group. She loved her grandchildren and spending time with her friends.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Wisdom and Helen Wilson; and her Husband, Willie Wilson Caldwell.

     Travis Harold Fortune, 64, of Eagletown, passed away January 5, 2006 at his home. He was born March 22, 1941 in Eagletown, OK to Joseph W. (Bill) Fortune and Lena Lee Warren Fortune.
     He was affiliated with Eagletown Assembly of God Church and enjoyed socializing with friends, and spending time with his family.

Kenneth DeLucia, 1917 - 2006

     Dr. Kenneth J. DeLucia, 88, of Broken Bow, passed away January 6, 2006, at McCurtain Manor Nursing Center, in Broken Bow. He was born March 18, 1917, in New York City, New York.
     He was a retired doctor of Veterinary Medicine. He enjoyed horse racing, was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Lions Club, and also a library patron.
     He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret DeLucia; and his wife, Dorothy Ann Touchstone DeLucia.
     Dr. DeLucia leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Donald Charles DeLucia and Kenneth Scott DeLucia, both of College Station, Texas; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
     Services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church, Broken Bow.

Bobby Chadwick, 1946 - 2006

     Bobby Chadwick, 59, of Idabel, passed away January 6, 2006, at Paris Regional Medical Center, Paris, Texas. He was born October 10, 1946.
     Bobby Chadwick and Jeannie Roberts were united in marriage in November of 1972. He had lived in the Idabel area for twenty one years. Bobby was a member of Lynn Lane Church of Christ, Idabel, OK. loved to hunt and fish; served as Superintendent at Brown & Root for 20 years; was a member of the Eufaula Kiwanis Club; and worked for Idabel Water Department after moving to Idabel. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
     He was preceded in death by his father, Spence Chadwick; mother, Betty Chadwick; and one uncle, Udell Chadwick.

Bonnie Jean Malone, 1908 - 2006

     Bonnie Jean Malone, 97, lifetime McCurtain County Resident, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2006 at Paris. She was born August 10, 1908, the daughter of Mark and Bertha Jones Severn.
     Bonnie graduated from Haworth High School and Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She began teaching school at the age of 19 in a one room schoolhouse at the Treadway School teaching all 8 grades. In all she taught in the Tom area for over 45 years. Mrs. Malone was always professionally dedicated and competitive in trying to use her abilities and talents to further her students in enjoying the good life. She was a member of the McCurtain County Retired Teacher’s Association, the Eastern Star, and the Tom Church of Christ. Bonnie enjoyed volunteering as a pink lady at the McCurtain Memorial Hospital, crocheting, and was an avid soap opera fan.
     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dan Lester Malone; 1 sister and 4 brothers.
     Bonnie is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Howard and Jalna Sue Malone of Denison, Texas, and Dwight Dan Malone of Broken Bow; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and John Tonubbee of Paris, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Billy Pat and Edna Severn of Tom; sisters and brother-in-law, Patricia Ray of Tom, and Chris and Charles Terry of Texarkana, Texas; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

     Charles “Cotton” Young, age 66, of Eagletown passed away Thursday, January 5, 2006 at his residence. He was born to Charlie and Gertrude Fortune Young on January 18, 1939 at Haworth. He married Wanda Masterson on August 23, 1976 at DeQueen, Arkansas.
     Charles was a self employed logger. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and working in his garden. He was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County.
     He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Bessie Vanhoose and Kathryn Morris.
     Charles is survived by his wife of 29 years, Wanda of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Charlie and Dodie Young of Chickasha, Oklahoma; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Richard Sounders of Rush Springs, Oklahoma; brother and sister-in-law, Buddy and Ruth Young of Eagletown; sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise and Roy Griffin of Horatio, Arkansas, Hattie and Cotton Barrick of Broken Bow; 5 granddaughters; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Cleo Coffman, 1915 - 2006

     Cleo Ray-Coffman, 90, lifetime resident of Valliant, passed away January 3, 2006 in Idabel. She was born August 9, 1915 in America, Oklahoma to W.C. and Susan Ray.
     Cleo was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and had received a 50 year pin. She was an Registered Nurse and taught Health Occupations at Arkansas High School in Texarkana, AR. After special training in Houston, TX, she helped to set up the first Intensive Care Unit at St. Michael’s Hospital in Texarkana. She was also a member of Central Baptist Church in Idabel.
     She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, and 1 sister.
     She is survived by 2 sons and daughter-in-law, Billy and Carolyn Coffman of Vilas, NC and James Coffman of Idabel, OK; 1 daughter, Ann Dorries of Valliant, OK; 4 grandchildren, Paula Daniel, Belynda Coffman, Jerrod Coffman, Brad Coffman; 5 great-grandchildren, Bekki Trapp, Allen Beene, Cody Coffman, Jathan Coffman, and Erin Daniel; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Raelyn Beene and Ainsley Trapp; and numerous nieces and nephews.
     Visitation is scheduled with the family from 6:00 to 8:00 Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at Norwood Funeral Home.
     Services will be 2:00 Thursday, January 5, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Bokhoma with Brother Bob Thornburgh presiding. Interment will follow in Bokhoma Cemetery.

Faye Pauline Davis, 1926 - 2006

     Faye Pauline Davis, 79, of Broken Bow, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2005 at the Lane Frost Health and Rehabilitation Center, Hugo, OK. She was born October 5, 1926, in Broken Bow, OK, the daughter of William Porter and Ada Ann Vandiver Massey.
     Pauline was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She had lived in McCurtain County since 1977. Pauline enjoyed quilting, sewing, flowers, gardening, crocheting, church activities, playing dominoes and playing the piano. She also loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
     She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Davis; one son, Larry Davis; her parents, Bill and Ada Massey and one grandson, Larry Davis Jr.

He was born April 15, 1947 in Idabel, the son of Jimmie Lee and Kathryn King. Jimmie graduated from Idabel High School in 1965 and the University of Oklahoma in 1976.
     He was preceded in death by his father.

     Don was a lifetime resident of Valliant, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

     He is survived by: 3 daughters, Tammy Hunter of Port Orchard, WA, Donna Hunter of Valliant, OK and Danny Hunter of Valliant, OK; 1 brother, Robert Hunter of Locust Grove, OK; 2 sisters, Betty Ann Chappel of Warner, OK and Loretta Berry of Muskogee, OK; 6 grandchildren; mother-in-law, Marie Harp; an Aunt and Uncle Fern Cobb and Russell Hunter of Tahlequah, OK; 3 nieces; 3 nephews; and other family and friends.
     Graveside Services will be at 2:00 Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at Valliant Cemetery with Brother Travis Massey presiding.

Robert Murray, 1946 - 2005

     Robert (Bobby) Murray, 59, passed away December 30, 2005 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was born on September 26, 1946, in Idabel, to Robert James Murray Sr. and Fannie Inez Thomas.
     Bobby loved collecting cars and watching television. Hee Haw was especially his favorite. he watched it faithfully. He also loved Gunsmoke and the 3 Stooges. He had lived in McCurtain County his entire lifetime.
     Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert James Murray Sr.; his mother and step-father, Fannie and Herbert Brewer; and his niece, Eva Alley.
     He is survived by 3 brothers, Jimmy Murray of Holdenville, OK, Charlie Brewer of Idabel, OK, Thomas Brewer of Idabel, OK; 3 sisters, Ann Smith, Sandy Brewer Howard, and Geneva Brewer all of Idabel, OK; 4 nieces, Malisia Brewer of Wright City, OK, Misty Flowers of Idabel, OK, Gloria Brewer of Idabel, OK, and Amanda McBride of Idabel, OK; 5 nephews, Chris Murray of Idabel, OK, Gary Alley Jr. of Idabel, OK, Chad Allison of Texarkana, TX, Dobber Williston of Idabel, OK, and Cole Allison of Idabel, OK; and numerous cousins and friends.
     Graveside services will be at 11:00 Monday, January 2, 2006 at Harris Cemetery with David Mitchell presiding.
