Hiram Miller, 1924 - 2006
Hiram Miller, 81, of Broken Bow, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2006 at his residence. He was born October 8, 1924, in Dierks, AR, the son of Thomas and Willie (Arnold) Miller.
Hiram liked to hunt and fish, and he was one of the last few survivors of the Beavers Bend CCC Camp. Hiram enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was affiliated with the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Willie Miller; and infant son, Terry Miller.
Hiram leaves to cherish his memory his children, Junior Miller, Union Grove, OK, Wesley Miller, Stigler, OK, Mike Miller, Broken Bow, Ed Miller, Hochatown, Loretta McCoy, Ada, Gail Griffith, Ardmore, LaDonna Westbrook, Broken Bow, Jerry Crawford, Porter, OK, Angel Miller, Lone Grove, OK, and Patricia Bittel, Brittan, OK; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.

Birdie Farris, 1911 - 2006
Birdie Farris, 95, of Broken Bow, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at Broken Bow Nursing Home. She was born May 7, 1911, in Neshoba, OK, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Riley) Hammer.
The family moved to Ludlow, OK, where Birdie spent her young adult life. Later, she lived in south Texas in the Rio Grande Valley. She and Henry Farris were married in Edinburg, TX on January 9, 1935. They moved back to Ludlow in the early forties. After Henry retired from road maintenance work, he and Birdie operated the Ludlow General Store for a few years.
She and her husband were very active in the church, both helping build the church building in Ludlow. Later moving to Broken Bow, they were active members of the First Christian Church, until her health failed. Henry passed away in 1990.
Birdie loved to read her bible, loved music and played the guitar in her youth, liked to crochet, work with flowers, and loved to cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Hammer; husband Henry Farris; five brothers, Leonard, Eldon, Irl, L. J., and Sam; and one sister, Edith Fisher.
Birdie leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Debs Hammer and wife Ann; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Little River Christ Church, Ludlow, OK, with Pastor Leroy Williams and Mark Hammer officiating. Interment will follow at Ludlow Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2006 at Brumley Funeral Home, Broken Bow.

John “Jerry” Hannah, 1941 - 2006
John “Jerry” Hannah, 65, of Rattan passed away Sunday, August 27, 2006 at Tulsa, OK. He was born March 13, 1941 at Pickens to John and Jewell Hannah.
Jerry married his wife Charlotte on June 8, 1962 and together they owned and operated several successful businesses, the latest being Hannah’s Bent Tree Cabins located on Little River at Cloudy, he was very proud of this accomplishment. He was a very good cook his specialty being homemade biscuits and brisket. Jerry loved spending time with his family and friends at cookouts. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and was a lifetime resident of this area.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Charlotte of the home; daughters, Barbara Bathe of Michigan, Terri Wallace and husband, Stephen of Virginia, and Kelly Hannah of Sherman, TX; a son, Marty VanHoose of Pickens; a sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Gerald Glover of Pickens; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren;, several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the County Line Cemetery, Pickens, with Bro. Perry Martin and Bro. Larry Morris officiating.

Larry Leonard, 1947 - 2006
Larry Leonard, 59, of Eagletown, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2006 at his residence. He was born May 26, 1947, the son of Carl and Mary (Marrs) Leonard.
Larry was a lifelong resident of Eagletown. He worked for Weyerhaeuser for thirty years. Larry liked to play with his dog and take care of his chickens. Most of all he adored and loved his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary Leonard.

Naomi Miller Fenley, 1942 - 2006
Naomi Miller Fenley passed away on August 23 of 2006 at the Lane Frost Health & Rehabilitation Center located in Hugo, Oklahoma. Naomi was born July 21, 1942 in Spencerville, OK, the daughter of Billy and Opal Baze and had lived all of her life in this area.
Services will be held on Friday, August 25 at 10:00am at the Felker Freewill Baptist Church of Valliant, Oklahoma. Officiating will be Bro. Bill Haddox and Bro. Cecil Ferguson. Interment will follow at the Valliant Cemetery.

James Earl Fields, 1942 - 2006
James Earl Fields was born on November 1, 1942 in Idabel, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sellous Charlie and Homa Ellen Kelley Fields and his sister Zenobia Alford. James went be with his Lord on August 19, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janey Fields, son, Eddie Fields and wife Ninfa Arias of Farmers Branch, TX; daughter/granddaughter, Destiny Yoakum and husband David; grandson, Christian Fields and adopted daughter Patricia Hamilton of OK. He is also survived by brothers, Dale Fields and wife Louise of Idabel, OK; Glen Fields and wife Barbara of Greenville, TX; sisters Geneva Cockerham and husband Thomas of Garvin, OK and Sharon McKeever and husband Shorty of Valliant, OK and 10 Nieces and nephews.
He was retired from the City of Dallas Health Department after 30 years of service and presently was working for the Dallas County Schools in the transportation department.
Memorial service will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 13605 Webb Chapel Road, Farmers Branch, TX. on Saturday, August 26th at 10 am. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Friday, August 25th from 7:00 p.m.until 9:00 p.m.at 3016 Golfing Green Circle Drive in Farmers Branch, TX. Johnny Ray Burris, 1958 - 2006
Johnny Ray Burris, 48, of Broken Bow, passed away August 16, 2006 at Christus St. Michael Hospital, Texarkana, TX. He was born February 28, 1958, in Kansas City, MO.
At an early age, Johnny joined St. Matthew Baptist Church in Eagletown, OK. He was a generous, kind, forgiving, and gentle man. Johnny touched the heart of everyone he knew. He liked to hunt, fish, and be outdoors. He also enjoyed cooking and riding motorcycles. Johnny just loved to have a good time.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Earnestine Burris; and grandparents, Frank and Ethel Burris.

Kendel Taylor, 34, of the Herndon community, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2006. He was born January 22, 1972, the son of Jessie and Vickie Taylor.
Kendel lived in this area all his life. He liked to hunt and fish and enjoyed searching for arrowheads. He loved his children and family. He was affiliated with Greens Chapel Assembly of God.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Tonya Delaine Taylor in 1988; and grandparents, Elmer and Dorothy Todd, and Jessie Yovel and Ollie Mae Taylor

George Mack Whitten, 1944 - 2006
George Mack Whitten, 61, of Broken Bow, died Friday, August 11, 2006, at his residence. He was born December 29, 1944 in De Queen, AR the son of Ernest and Pert Whitten.
George liked to hunt and scuba dive and was a scuba diving instructor. He also enjoyed flying and has his pilot license. George lived in Broken Bow until he was 19 then moved to Dallas where he was the owner of three furniture stores. He moved back to Broken Bow in 2000 and owned Quality Discount Furniture. He really enjoyed being with his family and loved to spoil his two grandchildren. George was affiliated with the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Pert Whitten.

Iva Lee Jones, 88, of Broken Bow, passed away August 10, 2006 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital, Idabel. She was born on April 25, 1918 in Fallsville, AR the daughter of Moses and Margaret (Knuckles) Wages.
Iva made her home in the Broken Bow, OK in 1972, moving from Oregon. She was affiliated with First Assembly of God Church, Broken Bow. She enjoyed quilting, and gardening. Iva loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Iva was preceded in death by her parents, Moses and Margaret Wages; husband, Paul Genon; daughter, Barbara Jones; and several siblings.

Harriet Carrie Amos, 87, of Broken Bow, passed away August 11, 2006 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital, Idabel. She was born on November 10, 1918 in Eagletown, OK the daughter of Simon and Adeline (Tompson) Fobb.
Harriet loved to cook, sing, read her Bible, and spend time with her family. She had a very good memory and liked to talk about the old days. She was affiliated with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Harriet was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Adeline Fobb; husband, Raymond Amos; son, Raymond Amos Jr.; three brothers; and one sister.

Ina Robbins, 1940 - 2006
Ina Robbins, 66, of Idabel passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, August 10, 2006 in Paris. She was born September 13, 1939 in Idabel.
Ina spent a life caring for and giving comfort to others thru her career as a nurse. Her greatest care and comfort was always given to her family thru her gentle love and guidance that can only be given by a mother. She was an amazing mother who managed to raise her children and complete her education. In the process she always managed to provide the love and guidance to raise her four children to become adults who understand and truly live for the honor and respect of their mother and father. God has not given us the ability to express in words the loss we feel but we were very fortunate he gave you the ability to show your love for us while you were with us on earth. Our comfort is knowing you and Dad are looking down from heaven and will always be there to reach down and guide us, just as you did when you taught us to walk, talk, always play fair and put our faith in God.
Ina was a devout Christian and was a member of Grace Assembly Church. She was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C.J. and Gladys Bivings; her husband, Pete Robbins; brother, K. D. Bivings; a sister, Erma Franks; and a brother-in-law, Thomas White.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Jackie Robbins, Gary and Tami Robbins, and David Robbins, all of Idabel; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Mike Green of Austin, Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law, J. R. and Sandy Bivings of Valliant and Calvin and Carol Bivings of Tennessee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Emma White of Shawnee, Dorothy and Carlton Free of Ashdown, and Glenda and Don Austin of Idabel; her grandchildren, Michael and Donna Robbins of Broken Bow, Clark Robbins of Idabel, Kristen Clark of Idabel, Scott and Tasha Robbins of Idabel, Cassie Robbins and Dustin Minton of Bethany, Oklahoma, Jason and Toya Robbins of Idabel, Destiny Robbins, and Douglas Robbins both of Haworth; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Harrison Mooney, 1911 - 2006
Harrison Mooney, 94, of Idabel passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital. He was born November 11, 1911 at Gilliam, AR, the son of Merdith and Mary Mooney.
Harrison and Bennie Jacobs were married June 16, 1931 in Idabel. He was retired from Weyerhaeuser as a Maintenance Supervisor, a member of Grace Assembly and had lived in the community all of his live. He enjoyed outdoors and spending time with friends at the Senior Citizen Center.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bennie Mooney, on October 23, 1998; his parents; daughter, Jerri Mooney and son, Charles W. Mooney.
Harrison leaves to cherish his memory two sons, B. J. Mooney, Tucson, AZ and Don Mooney, New Iberia, LA; fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren and a host of friends.

Delbert M. Dyer, 1947 - 2006
Delbert M. Dyer from the Pollard community passed from this life on August 9, 2006 at Texarkana, Texas. Dale was born March 22, 1947 at Portales, New Mexico to Frank and Ada Elizabeth Dyer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jack Dyer and John Coleman; four sisters, Geneva Dodson, LaVern Phipps, Esther McLeod and Frankie Jean Martin and nephew Dustin Harkrider.
He is survived by his wife Linda of the home; one daughter Lorinda (Rindy) Morris and son-in-law Stephen; granddaughters, Morgan (Dyer) Morris and Allison Morris all of Idabel; one son, Ricky Dale Dyer and wife JoAnna and grandson, Andrew Dyer; one brother, Steve Coleman of Burns, OR; five sisters, Ressie Brown and husband James of Broken Bow, Thelma Wilkins and husband Larry of Ft Gibson, Marge Cockerham and husband Steve of Idabel, Deanie Tucker and husband Jesse of Broken Bow, Trish Harkrider and Alan Blalock of Broken Bow; mother-in-law Alma Paul-Cedar of Alexandria, LA; sisters-in-law, Betty Ann Barton of Alexandria, LA and Marilyn White of Sharpstown, MD; brothers-in-law, Leon Paul Jr. of Alexandria, LA. and Raymond Paul of Pineville, LA along with a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.
Dale served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war, worked as a millwright for Brown & Root for over 22 years and was presently employed as a millwright at the Red River Army Depot. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing with his grandchildren, taking care of his cows and dearly loved to hunt and fish.

in Idabel Wednesday afternoon from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will
be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2006 at Brumley Funeral Home Chapel with
Father Chet officiating and graveside services following at the Haworth Cemetery
with the Rev. Thomas Cockerham conducting the services.

Dale Mitchell, 33, of Idabel passed away Saturday, August 5, 2006 in Tulsa. He was born August 4, 1973 in Talihina.
Dale was a truck driver for Southern Refrigeration Transport. He was an avid OU and Dallas Cowboys sports fan. Dale was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County.
He was preceded in death by hismother, Wanda Mitchell in 2002; grandfather, Jerry Mitchell; great-grandmother, Mattie Maytubbi-Shaw; aunt, Helen Noah.
Dale is survived by his son, Darren Mitchell of Idabel; a brother, David Mitchell of Idabel; uncles, Sim Noah of Battiest, and John Wayne Maytubbi of Idabel; nephews, Andrew Poafpybitty of DeQueen and Jaylen Embry of Tulsa; a niece, Jamie Walker of Broken Bow; many other relatives, and a host of friends.
Services will be Thursday, August 10, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Community Faith Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. David Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Kulli Tuklo Cemetery.

Anna Lou Womack, 1934 - 2006
Anna Lou Womack, 72, of Hochatown, passed away August 8, 2006 at her son Shane and wife B.J.’s home. She was born on February 2, 1934 in Evening Shade, AR the daughter of Silas and Vercie (Graham) Weaver.
Anna lived in Reno, NV, Memphis, TN, and made her home in the Claremore, OK area in 1971. She was a beautician and had her business in her home in the Sequoyah, OK community for several years. She treasured the friendship she made over the years with her patrons and neighbors.
Anna loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. Anna was a good seamstress and loved crocheting, always making something special for wedding and baby gifts. Anna was a member of Foyil Baptist Church. She especially enjoyed her Sunday School Class where she worshiped God and enjoyed fellowship with fellow Christians.
Anna also enjoyed playing Mexican Dominos, card games, and visiting with her friends. One of her favorite things was her trips to Arkansas to visit and garage sale with her nieces Francine and Carol. Anna was a special Lady who was always thinking of others. She was deeply loved and admired by her family and friends. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will always be greatly missed by all. She will always be remembered and loved in our hearts.

Virginia Hardy Atkinson, 1917 - 2006
Virginia Hardy Atkinson, 88, of Broken Bow, passed away August 7, 2006 at Christus St. Michael Hospital, Texarkana, TX. She was born December 29, 1917, in Paris, TX, the daughter of Samuel and Bertha (Avance) Hardy.
Virginia enjoyed flowers, gardening, and working in her yard. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church in Broken Bow.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Bertha Hardy.
Virginia leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Jim Burton and wife Marie, Wright City, and William “Bill” Burton and wife Susie, Spring, TX; daughter, Earline “Judy” Kirk, Broken Bow; grandchildren, Sam Burton, Tina Gibbs, and Jimmy Belk; several great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 11, 2006 at Evergreen Cemetery, Paris, TX. Rev. Margo Vestal will officiate.

Mark Daniel Gallagher, 1957 - 2006
Mark Daniel Gallagher, 48, of Broken Bow, died Monday, August 7, 2006, at his residence. He was born December 9, 1957 in Topeka, KS, the son of Robert Davis Gallagher and Lahoma (Scott) Gallagher.
Mark loved the outdoors and to go fishing. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a member of Kiamichi Independent Bikers. He loved his children and grandchildren and was always “full of spunk”.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lahoma Frazier; and sister, Donna Gallagher.
Mark leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Tina Gallagher, Broken Bow; son, Jonathon Gallagher, Broken Bow; daughters, Daniell Mulky and Krystal Gallagher, both of Broken Bow; step-son, Keith Freeman, Broken Bow; step-daughters, Kristy Freeman and Kayla Saymour, both of Broken Bow; brothers, George Barnett, Broken Bow, and Robert David Gallagher, Haworth; sisters, Shirlene Kegley, Texarkana, AR, Geneva Sylvia, Broken Bow, and Kathryn Lawana Lewin, New Boston, TX; thirteen grandchildren, and a number of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2006 at Brumley Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow. Interment will be held at Camp Ground Cemetery, Winthrop, AR at 3 p.m. following the service. Rev. Martin Maynard will officiate.

Eddie Gammon, 1949 - 2006
Eddie Gammon, 57, of Broken Bow, died Saturday, August 5, 2006, at Octavia, OK. He was born February 10, 1949 in Battiest to Eliga and Mable Mae Gammon.
Eddie was united in marriage on April 18, 1988 to Judy Sanders in DeQueen, AR. He liked to travel, write and play music, motorcycles, but most of all he enjoyed helping others in their time of need. Eddie loved spending time with his family and friends. He was affiliated with the Assembly of God Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eliga and Mable Mae Gammon; sister, Leta Mae Gammon; and niece, Rene Treat.
Eddie leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Judy Gammon, of the home; two sons, Dewayne Gammon, Broken Bow, and Brandon Manire, Alvin, TX; two daughters, Lynette Gammon, Broken Bow, and Marlo Pitt and husband Todd, Haworth, OK; two brothers, Melvin Gammon and Glendal Gammon, both of Broken Bow; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Rudena and Herman Caldwell, Holly Creek, Shirley and Bill Treat, Broken Bow, Fay and Herman Sepulvado, Texarkana, TX, Brenda and Charles Venable, Maude, TX, and Sandra and Johnny Watkins, Pickens, OK; fifteen grandchildren, Lindsey Richard and friend Ray Virgin, Savanah Richard and friend Leroy Lyles, Kaysee Pitt, Morgan Pitt, Sabrina Pitt, Breana Pitt, AnnDee Manire, Kaylee Manire, Dylan Johnson, Casey Smith, Kaitlin Smith, Dana Mack, Zachery Nobles, Maegan Nobles, and Lacey Griffin; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a large extended family.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at the First Assembly of God Church, Broken Bow. Interment will follow at Broken Bow Cemetery, Broken Bow. Rev. LaRoi Woods will officiate.

Teresa Tyler, 1943 - 2006
Teresa Tyler passed away on August 6, 2006. Teresa was born October 9, 1943 in Millerton, OK the daughter of Jim Cecil Buchanan and Charlene (Ray) Buchanan and has lived in the Valliant community all of her life.
Services will be held at the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Valliant, Oklahoma on August 8 at 2:00 p.m. Bro. Kenneth Cummings and Sister Francis Melton will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Wheelock Cemetery in Millerton, Oklahoma.

Carlita D. Bamfo, 29, Idabel, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2006 at McCurtain Memorial Hospistal.
Private service will be held Friday, August 4, 2006 with Brumley Funeral Home.

Ruth Whiteman Dacus, 1908 - 2006
Ruth Whiteman Dacus, age 98, passed away Monday, July 31, 2006 at the Clarksville Nursing Home in Clarksville, Texas. She was born June 27, 1908 in Idabel, the daughter of C. M. and Francis (Fannie) Anderson.
Other than her years in college at Stillwater and Durant, Ruth has spent her entire life in Idabel. She taught in McCurtain County rural schools for several years. She married R. E. (Bob) Whiteman in 1934, and together they owned and operated Whiteman’s Drug, which is now Chandler-Hewitt Drug. Although under new ownership, Ruth continued to work in the drug store for Rex Chandler for 25 years. Bob Whiteman died in 1964. Ruth married Robert W. Dacus in 1967 and he died in 1986.
Ruth is survived by three nieces and one nephew and their families: Elizabeth Blocker, Idabel, Mary L. Steward, Ormond Beach, Florida, Harmony Farrington, Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Jimmy Anderson, Melbourne, Florida.
Ruth loved Idabel and knew and loved most of the people living here. She also loved children (all ages) and cats. Eating and playing bridge were her favorite pastimes.
Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2006 at the Denison Cemetery with Jim Mashburn officiating.

John David Milam
John David Milam, age 25, of Foreman went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday,
August 2, 2006, after injuries received in an automobile accident on July
23.
John was preceded in death by his brother, Beau Curtis Milam in 1979, his paternal
aunt Tammy Dossett in 2001, and his paternal great-grandmother, Sarah Elizabeth
Milam in 1999.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, John C. Milam of Tatum, Texas,
Herbert and Peggy Milam Heimbach of Valliant, Okla.; one brother and sister-in-law,
James and Misty Milam of Lane, Okla.; one sister and brother-in-law, Jessica
Milam and Randal Gant of Millerton, Okla.; one nephew, Beau Taylor Curtis Milam
of Millerton, Okla.; one step-brother, Terry Heimbach of Valliant, Okla.; one
step-sister, Vanessa Monk of Midway, GA; his paternal grandparents John and
Billie Milam of Foreman; maternal grandmother, Helen Edmondson of Rover, Ark.;
his paternal grandfather, B.J. Roan of Eagletown, Okla.; his paternal great-grandmother,
Lebith Hook of Grantspass, Ore.; a very special friend, Bobby Smith of Camden,
Ark., numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends who all cherished
and loved him.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 7, 2006 in the Winthrop
First Baptist Church with Rev. Audie Dawson officiating. Burial followed in
the Horatio Cemetery, under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
The family received friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 6, at the
funeral home.

Kayla Denise Henry, 1988 - 2006
Valliant High School Student Kayla Denise Henry, 17, passed away Monday July, 31, 2006, at Dallas, TX. She was born Nov. 25, 1988, at Paris, Texas, to Raifel Henry and Kelly Brown Henry.
She was a Valliant student from K-1 through the eleventh grade. She enjoyed school and especially being a cheerleader. She was chosen as an All American Cheerleader during the years 2004-2006. In addition, Kayla was selected as cheerleader captain for the school year 2006-2007 and received numerous awards at the cheerleading camps she attended.
She was an active member and held an office in the FCCLA organization.
Kayla was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Valliant.
She was a very compassionate person. The Valliant community is very proud of Kayla for her craftsmanship of a display case she made in woodshop. The case houses a teddy bear which was given to Ms. Mussett of Valliant in honor of her brother who was killed in the Oklahoma City bombing. The case is on display at the Valliant School Library.
Kayla’s future plans included applying for a U.S.C. instructor’s position and attending college on a cheerleading scholarship. She was a dedicated, hard-working student and had plans to be a counselor.
She was preceded in death by her great grandfathers’ Jack Barnett, Lawrence Brown, Rolin Walton and Mark Severn; grandfather David Brown; uncles’ Randall Henry and James Henry; and cousin Trista Henry.
Kayla leaves to cherish her memory her parents Raifel and Lorrie Henry of Valliant, Kelly McBrayer and special friend Cliff Davis of Idabel, three brothers Brian, Randall and Skylar Henry of Valliant, one sister Madison McBrayer of Idabel,. Her grandparents, Gene and Sarah Henry, Jimmy and Jackie Jacobs, all of Valliant; great grandmothers Elma Severn and Dean Barnett of Valliant; two uncles Theron Henry of Valliant and Jason and wife, Kim Brown of Livingston, TX, four aunts Lisa and husband, Bruce Worth of Dallas, TX, Tasha Henry of Dallas, TX, Gwen Goree of Ada, OK, and Karla Gunn of Oklahoma City, cousins Makenzie Miller, Jessika and Samantha Gunn, and Jason, Mitchell, and Hudson Brown, along with numerous other family members. Kayla truly loved and treasured her time with her friends and classmates. We cherish the time we had with Kayla; she is dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Almeta Cole Jackson, 1919 - 2006
Almeta Cole Jackson was born on November 11, 1919, one of six children born of the late Butler and Pearl Cole of Idabel, Oklahoma.
Almeta was united in Holy Matrimony to her late husband of 54 years, Issac Benjamin Jackson (I.B.), who passed on April 9, 1991.
At an early age, Almeta joined the Macedonia Baptist Church. She demonstrated her love and faith in Christ through the rearing of her 10 children. Se was a faithful wife and loving mother. She lived a sacrificial life and was totally devoted to her family and all those who knew her.
Almeta was preceded in the home going of her oldest daughter, Mrs. Erma Pearl Baker of Idabel. However, she leaves to mourn her precious memories: one son, Samuel Jackson of San Diego, CA. and 8 daughters, Alpha Goss of Idabel, Bennie Johnston of Jones, OK., Alma Cannon of San Diego, CA., Shirlene White of Houston, TX., Emma Jackson of Midwest City, OK., Barbara Brown of San Diego, CA., Ruthia Jackson of Dallas, TX and Carol Jackson of Oklahoma City, OK.
Almeta also leaves to mourn: 25 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Her precious memories will also remain the hearts of her brother and sister, Mr. Olen Cole of Oakland, CA. and Mrs. Martha Boyce of Compton, CA., McCurtis Cole and James Cole both of Oklahoma City, OK.
Almeta is also greatly loved by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. Roy Jackson of Fresno, CA., Mr. Hardy Jackson of Idabel, Mrs. Verlee Doran of Sacramento, CA. and Mrs. Augusta Butler of Fresno, CA. She leaves to mourn a host of close relatives and friends.
She will always be loved and remembered by her children as, “Mudear”, by her grandchildren as “Tutoo”, and by her close family and friends as “Sister”. She was truly a loving “Sister” to all. Almeta’s favorite Gospel Song was “Remember Me”.
Words cannot express the love that we have in our hearts for our dear and beloved mother, grandmother and “Sister”.

Amber Dawn Wells, 1989 - 2006
Amber Dawn Wells, 16, of Broken Bow, passed away July 30, 2006 at De Queen, AR. She was born September 22, 1989, in Talihina, the daughter of Herman and Brenda (Kennedy) Wells.
Amber loved basketball, track, camping, and hunting and fishing with her dad. She was a junior at Broken Bow High School. Amber was affiliated with the Springs of Light Church. She loved her grandmother Mildred Wells very much and was very close to her. Amber was deeply loved and cherished and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Albert Jim Wells Jr.; and grandmother, Barbara Leon Kennedy.
Amber leaves to cherish her memory her father, Herman Wells, Broken Bow; mother, Brenda Wells, Broken Bow; grandfather, Hubert D.
