Margie Claborn, 1936 - 2005
Margie “Guest” Claborn, 69, of Broken Bow, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2005 at St. Michaels Hospital, Texarkana, TX. She was born April 17, 1936, in Idabel, OK, the daughter of Henry Wheeler Sr. and Melvine Webster Guest.
Margie was affiliated with the First Baptist Church, Wright City, OK. She loved spending time with her kids, grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. Margie enjoyed working with her cows and loved watching Cubs Baseball.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H. J. “John” Claborn, and one brother, Junior Guest.
Margie leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Johnny Claborn and his wife Sue, Ada, OK; James Claborn, Granite, OK; Jerry Claborn, Broken Bow, and Jackie Claborn, Lawton, OK; two daughters, Diane Armstrong and her husband Franky, Valliant, OK, and Barby Garrett and her husband Gary, Broken Bow, OK; six brothers, Donald and Gerald Guest, both of Valliant; David, D. D., Larry, and Bill Guest, all of Millerton, OK; two sisters, JoNell Fields, Millerton, OK, and Debbie Stokes, Ponca City, OK; five granddaughters, Tracey Lewis, Malisa Bridges, Telsee Provence, Macy Bailey, and Tiffany Williams; six grandsons, B. J. Conway, Josh Claborn, Jeremy Claborn, Pate Claborn, Michael Lee, and Josh Garrett; three great-grandchildren, Shellbie Lewis, Reese Lewis, and Reighney Bridges; numerous nieces and nephews; Home Health Nurses; Lucille Brown, and a host of friends.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at the First Baptist Church, Wright City. Interment will follow at the Glover Cemetery, Glover, OK. Rev. Charles Duvall will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow.

J. D. Lott Jr., 53, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2005, in Pompano Beach, Florida. He was born June 29, 1952, in Lindsey, CA, the son of J. D. and Alice Juaneema Hall Lott Sr.
J. D. enjoyed fishing, spending time with his children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Juaneema Lott; one brother, Glen Dale Lott, and one half brother, John Douglas Lott.
He leaves to cherish his memory Valerie Lott, Texarkana, AR; his father, J. D. Lott Sr., Dierks, AR; one son John D. Lott, Howe, OK; one daughter, Anna M. Glen Darrell Dagenhart, 65, Idabel passed away November 20, 2005. He was born July 7, 1940 in Clebit, OK, the son of Jay and Mary Dagenhart.
Glen was affiliated with the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and helping people. He loved his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jay and Mary Dagenhart; one son, Tommy Dagenhart, and five brothers, James, D.C., W.E., Don and Bob Dagenhart.

Edna Wallace, 74, of Broken Bow, passed away November 21, 2005 at her home. She was born September 30, 1931, in Idabel, OK, the daughter of Roy and Idabel Cox McKee.
Edna was a member of the Broken Bow First Assembly of God Church. She loved grooming and raising dogs, sewing, shopping, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Lois Axton, and one brother, Curtis McKee.

Dennis Earl “G-Force” LeForce, 36, of Broken Bow, passed away November 20, 2005 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital. He was born July 23, 1969, in Tulsa, OK, the son of Earl LeForce and JoAnn LeForce.
Dennis was was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Broken Bow. He was a graduate of O.S.U. at Okmulgee and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Dennis loved writing poems, art, and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Wyatt Wood, and his paternal grandfather, Papa Albert LeForce.
Dennis leaves to cherish his memory his mother, JoAnn LeForce, Broken Bow; his father, Earl LeForce, Horatio, AR; maternal grandmother, Pauline Wood, Bethel, OK; two brothers, James LeForce, Sacramento, CA, and Kenny LeForce, Broken Bow; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and fiends.

Billy Long, 1940 - 2005
Billy D. Long, 65, of Broken Bow, passed away November 21, 2005 at Baylor University Medical Center. He was born February 2, 1940, in Rufe, OK, the son of D. M. and Lorene Allensworth Long.
Billy Long and Sue Robertson were united in marriage on April 30, 1960, in Sobol, OK. He was a member of the Traditional Country Music Band and he enjoyed hunting, music, and spending time with family. Billy had a Batchelor of Science Degree and had dedicated his service to the United States Government for 38 years, 10 months, and 8 days. He worked for Tinker Air Force Base, Midwest City, OK, from February 25, 1960 to May 8, 1976; U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Muleshoe National Wildlife Refuge, Muleshoe, TX, from May 9, 1976 to December 26, 1981; U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, Matagorda Island Unit, Port O’Connor, TX, from December 27, 1981 to July 23, 1983; U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge, Jet, OK, from July 24, 1983 to January 16, 1988, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Little River National Wildlife Refuge, Broken Bow, OK, from January 17, 1988 to January 1, 1999.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Darriel and Johnny Lee Long.
Billy leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Sue Long, of the home; two sons, Donnie Long and his wife Sheila, Poteau, OK; Mickey Long and his wife Mary, Waco, TX; one daughter, Sheila Timberlake, Durant, OK; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Rebecca, and Joshua Long, all of Cisco, TX, and Mitchell Long, Poteau, OK; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and a host of church family and friends.

Barbara Matlock, 1934 - 2005
Barbara Ewell Matlock, 71, Idabel, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2005, at Paris Regional Medical Center, Paris, TX. She was born October 4, 1934, at Carlise, KY., the daughter of the late William Lyle and Laura Dayton Ewell.
Barbara married Billy Wayne Matlock on December 17, 1973, at Paris, TX. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Idabel and she lived in this community for 31 years, moving here from Lexington, KY. Barbara retired from Kellwood.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Wayne Matlock on June 23, 2002.

JoAnn Ebert, 43, of Broken Bow, passed away November 20, 2005 at her residence. She was born November 14, 1962 in Idabel, OK.
JoAnn enjoyed going to the lake, driving roads and listening to music, hunting, camping and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her three sons, Bradley Higgins, Arron Ebert, and Shane Ebert; her mother, Deta Richards, and one step brother, Jimmy Richards.

Arron Ebert, 13, of Broken Bow, passed away November 20, 2005 at his residence. He was born March 1, 1992, in Houston, TX, the son of Brent and JoAnn Ebert.
Arron was a student at Lukfata Elementary where he was active in football, basketball and track. He also enjoyed playing the drums, guitar and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his mother, JoAnn Ebert; his three brothers, Shane Ebert, Adam Ebert, and Bradley Higgins, and maternal grandmother, Deta Richards.

Shane was a student at Lukfata Elementary and enjoyed playing football, basketball, and riding horses. He also enjoyed outdoor activities.

Rosa Lee Harcrow, 74, Glover passed away November 18, 2005. She was born December 15, 1930, in Glover, OK, the daughter of Walter William and Bulah May Thompson Gibson.
Rosa was a member of Glover Assembly of God. She enjoyed working with flowers in the yard, quilting and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, three brothers, William, Leeburn and Abb Gibson and one sister, Marie McKeever.

Janice Bray, 1944 - 2005
Janice Bray, 60, of Broken Bow, passed away November 20, 2005 at her home. She was born December 5, 1944, in Idabel, OK, the daughter of Alley and Mable Taylor Billingsley.
Charles Bray and Janice Billingsley were united in marriage on March 16, 1960. Janice was affiliated with the Glover Baptist Church and she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alley and Mable Billingsley and her sister, Loretta Billingsley Plum.
Janice leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Charles Bray, of the home; one son Randall Bray, Holly Creek; two daughters, Lavonda Bray, Broken Bow, and Jana Smith, Holly Creek; two brothers, Gary Don Billingsley, DeQueen, AR, and George Allen Billingsley, Mt. Herman; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Jack Bray, 1934 - 2005
Jack Bray, 71, husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, friend and much more to a host of people, went to be with his Heavenly Father Monday morning November 21, 2005 at St. Michaels Hospital, Texarkana, TX. He was born July 25, 1934 in Lukfata to George and Mae Bray.
Jack went to Lukfata grade school and Broken Bow High, class of 1953. Jack met the girl next door, JoAnn Freeny, in June 1952 and she finally married him January 8, 1954. Jack had entered the U.S. Army at Fort Chaffee, AR in October 1953 in the Artillery Corps.
Sergeant Bray served with honor in Korea, four tours in Germany and two action filled tours in Vietnam.
Jacks army duty was completed at Fort Sill in Lawton, OK in July 1974. Jack retired after 21 years in the Army with many accommodations and awards. He worked 21 years as a civil service employee at Fort Sill in Lawton, OK.
Jack and JoAnn then moved to Broken Bow where they camped, hunted, fished and took great care of his home and family.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, George and May Bray; one brother, Snow Bray and one granddaughter Katelyn Bray.
Jack is survived by JoAnn his wife of 52 years, their son Jimmy and his wife Willie and grandchildren Zachary, Jessica and Rebecca of Eufaula; and their son Steve and his wife Ursula of Okmulgee; his brother Bob Bray, Lukfata and sister Eloise Hardin from Broken Bow.
Jack also leaves behind a multitude of family and friends who will certainly miss him. Jack was a member and former Deacon of the Broken Bow Church of Christ.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at the Broken Bow Church of Christ with Dan Fredman officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Broken Bow Church of Christ building fund.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m. at Brumley Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow.

Linda Bryan, 52, of Broken Bow, passed away November 20, 2005 at her home. She was born November 22, 1952, the daughter of Tommy and Clarifay Lorene Posey Mulkey.
Linda was a Christian and she was a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, flowers, hunting crystals, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Lorene Mulkey, Bo Barnes, and Walen Orear.

Julia Mary Chadwick, passed away November 18, 2005 at 5:45 am in Texarkana. She was born on March 29, 1933 in Norwich, England to Daniel and Mary Ellen Sandbatch.
Julia lived in Eagletown with her husband Tommy. They enjoyed gardening and taking rides around the country side. Julia loved to read and do needlepoint and spend time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by a husband of 53 years, William Thomas Chadwick; 3 daughters, Mary Helen Chadwick, Susan Geneva Chadwick, and Annette Chadwick White; 3 sons, William Bradley Chadwick, Travis Ashton Chadwick, and Senior Master Sergeant Daniel Chadwick; 2 daughters-in-law, Ramona Chadwick and Teresa Chadwick; 1 son-in-law, Gary White; 1 sister, Pauline Davidson; 2 brothers, Kevin and Steven Michaels; 15 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 20, 2005 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Norwood Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Monday, November 21, 2005 at Tom Cemetery.

Billy Joe Carter, 55, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2005 at Idabel. He was born in Garvin to Hubert and Irene Carter on February 13, 1950. Billy had lived in McCurtain County his entire life and was of the Baptist faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Irene Carter; wife, Mary; brother, Johnny Lee; and a sister Imogene Reaves.
Billy Joe is survived by his brothers, Curtis Carter of Garvin, Kenneth Carter of Valliant, Louis Carter of Ft. Worth; sisters, Margaret Graham of Garvin, Dorothy Killian of Honey Grove, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Elbie Martin Provence, passed away yesterday, November 14, 2005 at Idabel. She was born February 13, 1920, to Jett and Lois Martin, at Haworth, Oklahoma. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Rufus; son, Jett Foster Provence; sisters, Marie Dillard, Helen Fagan, and Margaret Crouse; brothers, Ernest Martin, and Pierce Martin; and her parents.
Elbie is survived by her daughter, Jo Ellen Duke; grandson and wife Mitchell and Tracy Morrow; great-grandchildren, Sasha and Joe Morrow, Jesse Miller, and Jensen Routh; sister, Lexie Hopkins of Peoria, Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by a very special love of 24 years, Frank Blackard of Valliant, Oklahoma.
Elbie was an extraordinary mother who was a great seamstress, cook, gardener, quilter, and a collector of dolls. She was a unique person who will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at 2:00 pm at Denison Cemetery.

Jonathan "Squash" Ward, 1965 - 2005
Jonathan "Squash" Ward, 40, Idabel, died Friday, November 4, 2005, at Haworth. He was born January 31, 1965, at Talihina, the son of Johnny and Mary Ward.
Squash enjoyed music and spending time with his family. He was a member of McGee Chapel and was a lifetime resident of Idabel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Mary Ward.
He leaves to cherish his memory three brothers, Johnny Ward Jr. and Dalton Ward both of Idabel, and Nathan Ward of Durant; two sisters, Roberta Ward and Loretta Nash and husband Caroll, all of Idabel; three aunts, four uncles, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2005, at McGee Chapel, Broken Bow, with Bro. Johnny Shomo and Bro. Randy Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow in McGee Cemetary.

James "Jimmy" Bridges, 1964 - 2005
James “Jimmy” Bridges, 41, of Eagletown, passed away November 6, 2005 at his home. He was born July 7, 1964 at Tulare, CA, the son of Finton and Alice Virginia Bridges.
Jimmy worked for Setco Solid Tire as a fabricating supervisor and he loved to hunt and fish. Jimmy also enjoyed being with his family.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel and Phillip Bridges; maternal grandparents, Sam and Polly Engler; paternal grandparents, Jim and Miriam Bridges.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Sonya Young Bridges, of the home; his parents, Finton and Virginia Bridges, Holly Creek; one son, James Brenton Cantley, Ardmore, OK; one daughter, Breanna Cantley, Broken Bow; two stepsons, Michael and Vincent Hutchison, Eagletown; four brothers, Charles Bridges and his wife Ruby, Valliant, OK; Donald Bridges and his wife Brigette, Atlanta, GA; David Bridges and his wife LaCretia, Broken Bow, and Kip Bridges and his wife Sheila, Redland, OK; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews and a host of friends.
Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2005, at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow. Burial will follow at Glover Cemetery, Glover. Rev. Jimmy Townsend will officiate.

Joseph “Gee” Billy, 53, of Idabel, OK, passed away November 5, 2005. He was born March 31, 1952, in Sobol, OK to Simon George and Margaret Louise Wesley Billy.
Gee was affiliated with the Kulli Tuklo Methodist Church, Broken Bow. He enjoyed attending gospel singings, cooking, keeping his grandchildren, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Billy; his father, Simon G. Billy; one sister, JoAnn Jacob, and one brother, Bobby Billy.

John Lowry Bain, 1921-2005
John Lowry Bain, 84, of Broken Bow, passed away November 5, 2005 at Broken Bow Nursing Home. He was born March 12, 1921, in Broken Bow, OK to John Seldon and Stella Head Bain.
John Lowry Bain and Elma Imogene Bolin were united in marriage on January 6, 1951 in Idabel, OK. John and Imogene were married for fifty four years.
He was a veteran in the United States Air Force and served as a Staff Sergeant. John was with the Oklahoma State Forestry for thirty nine years. He was a former director of the Forest Heritage Center and served on the Advisory Board as well. John was a former school board member for eight years. He loved gospel music and was a very good bass singer. John loved learning and fishing. He was instrumental in having the mural placed in the Forest Heritage Center and he also painted the original Beavers Bend sign. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 8 and the McCurtain County Historical Society. John also enjoyed carpentry work.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John S. and Stella Bain; one brother, Dave Bain; two aunts, Mamie Hale and Rena Head.
John leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Imogene Bain, of the home; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Johnny Bain and Doug Bain and his wife Judy, all of Broken Bow; one sister-in-law, Emogene Bain, Broken Bow; three grandchildren, Chad and Shelly Butler, Bartlesville, OK, and Jody Butler, Broken Bow; two great-grandchildren, Cade and Cameron Butler, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at the Brumley Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow. Burial will follow at the Broken Bow Cemetery, Broken Bow. Bro. Kevin Clements will officiate.

John R. Logan, 1931 - 2005
John R. Logan, 74, passed away November 4, 2005 in Arlington, TX. John was born July 12, 1931 in Octavia, OK, the son of Jim “J.W.” and Lela (Blanton) Logan.
He lived in the Hugo community most of his life. He married Wanda on April 27, 1959 in DeQueen, Ark. John enjoyed fishing, hunting and enjoyed his gardening, especially his tomatoes. He had some of the prettiest roses in Southeast Oklahoma. He would take rose petals to Pinson’s restaurant and place the petals on each table. He was preceded in death by his parents 2 sisters; Beulah Hogan and Mamie Logan, 3 brothers; Lester, Homer and Dale Logan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years; Wanda Logan, 2 daughters; Teri Rosenthal and her husband Rocky of Antlers, OK, Geri Russell and her husband Mike of Fort Worth, TX, 1 son; Johnny Ray Logan of Sawyer, OK, one granddaughter; Kelly Goulding and her husband Shawn of Cleburne, TX, 3 great grandchildren; Twins; Alex and Austin Goulding and Gage Logan Goulding to be born in April of 2006, 4 Sisters; Carrie Crane, Delphia Coker both of Hugo, OK, Bessie Stewart of Oklahoma City, OK and Naomi Wood of Stockton, CA along with a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at the Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel – Hugo, Oklahoma, with Dean Stewart officiating.

Delores Hill “Young”, 56, of Broken Bow, passed away November 3, 2005 at Choctaw Memorial Hospital, Hugo, OK. She was born August 3, 1949, in Planview, TX.
Delores was a Christian and she was affiliated with the Baptist faith. She was one of the Main Street Pickers of Broken Bow and enjoyed fishing, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Hill; father, Frank Young; step-father, Bo Wilson; grandmothers, Farra Blankenship and Lily Bell Young, and grandfathers, Bert Young and Willie Blankenship.

Dean Hylton, 1932 - 2005
Dean Hylton, 73, passed away November 3, 2005. He was born August 4, 1932 in Fort Towson, OK, the son of Joe and Vesta Hylton. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 10 years, worked as an air traffic controller until his retirement in 1972, and then lived in Ft. Towson ever since. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Mae Hylton; a daughter, Kathy Lane of Odessa, TX; a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Joye Hylton of Red Oak, TX; five grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; a sister, Clemmie Dillon of St. Louis, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Monday, November 7, 2005 at the Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo, Oklahoma.
Interment will follow immediately at the Fort Towson Cemetery - Fort Towson, Oklahoma with funeral honors provided by the Southeast Oklahoma Veterans Honor Guard. |

A. W. Burris, 1924 - 2005
A. W. Burris, age 81, of Broken Bow, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2005 at his home. He was born March 3, 1924 in Broken Bow, OK to James and Mary Burris.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Walker Burris; one son, Chuck Burris; his parents, four sisters, and six brothers.
A. W. was a lifelong resident of Broken Bow. After his retirement from the Oklahoma State Highway Department he continued to ranch until his health no longer permitted. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Broken Bow.
He is survived by two sons, Michael Burris and wife Vanessa and their children Evan and Whitney, of Lawton, and Marquette Burris, of Idabel; two grandsons, DeKarlus Burris and wife Kelli Dawn; DeMykal Burris and wife Angel; one granddaughter, DeAlycia Burris, and four great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Daniel, Carlea, and Kaylea, all of Broken Bow.
The family wishes to thank Lou Eddie Burris, Polly Burris, and Betty Jo Burris for their special care of A. W. during his illness.
Viewing will be Friday, November 4, 2005 from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Brumley Funeral Home, Broken Bow.

Henry Payne, 1937 - 2005
Henry Payne, 68, of Broken Bow, passed away November 1, 2005 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital. He was born October 15, 1937, in Nashville, AR.
Henry and Helen were married on September 13, 1954 in Dierks, AR. He was a member of Broken Bow Church of Christ and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and running dogs. Henry especially loved his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Payne on August 14, 2005 and his parents, Luther Riddley and Nona Elizabeth Tollison Payne.
Henry leaves to cherish his memory two sons and one daughter-in-law, Richard Payne, Wills Point, TX and Allan and Sharon Payne, Broken Bow; eight grandchildren, Richie and Malissa Payne, Eureka Springs, AR; Kristi K. Wanda Smith, 80, of Conway, AR, passed away October 30, 2005 at Conway Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Conway, AR. She was born September 24, 1925, in Cerrogorda, AR.
Wanda was affiliated with the First Assembly of God Church, Broken Bow, OK. She liked to read her bible and loved the Lord her entire life. Wanda also enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Vivian and Parthenia Smith Hopson; her ex-husband, Edmond B. Smith; one son, Dennis Edmond Smith; one sister, Francis Pence, and two brothers, Charles and Sherman Hopson.
